It is the New Year, a fresh start and a change to make new starts that will hopefully end with promising results. The Christmas Season brought lots of positive changes as I got out of Ponoka or the Centennial Centre as Cindy-loo Rand picked me up after 1.5 years and took me to over night at her house in Invermere. That night Lesley Beatson drove up from Rossland to her friends in Fairmont Hot Springs and Cindy-loo drove me to meet her in the morning, then Lesley and I drove to Rossland which was the spectacular home to my friends and family for my 50th b-day! Lesley got a new house since I was there last. My friends Scott, Cathy & their daughter Torri came up from Santa Barbara and Lesley's two kids, Cole & Samme, came home from school, so we had a full house, lots of shortbread, good healthy food and for once, I didn't drink any booze!
I was given the experience of riding a sit-ski which was an experience I never had so I realized what I liked about skiing...It was the Freedom it offered.... It wasn't cruising down the hillside but getting the choice of where to go. Later, Lesley and her kids, took me and the sit-ski on the snow covered streets where I was actually making some turns of my own. Lesson learned! I was looking to do it myself and on the mountain, the instructor thought I was looking for a thrill instead of "learning"to do it myself! The fun I had was down at the Trail Pool. I spent a fair bit of time in the hot tub but I also was treated to a life jacket, and eventually a mask and snorkel. I had the freedom of sculling with both arms and pulling my feet underneath me and standing up things they didn't try with me at the hospital but I at least gained some balance and that is something Sister Sue will crack the whip and I'll enjoy!
Right now I am living with sister Sue as my medical coverage takes 3 months to transfer from Alberta to BC. I'm really glad that her husband and teenagers let me live with them as I am quite happy here! Sue has a bunch of theories including massage, but it is not the relaxing kind. But if I get better I'll be very happy! So, let's hope 2012 is a stellar year for you and me! My best to you and your family!
Let's dream big!
