Well, time is flying by, and the beginning of June means blog time and the
beginning of summer. Well the West Coast means mild winters and mild summers
but that is better than Ponoka and next weekend I'm heading down to the
Gorgeview B & B's annual Guac Off. Skip and Paula are going to drive the
rocketship and I will enjoy Cathy Carter's hospitality plus anyone else's. Last
year I was lucky enough that Craig Sabina came in his plane and flew me and
Cousin Jane (Ralph) but this year I will miss Ralph and the plane but it will be
nice to go and win the trophy again. Ok we'll toy with them!
Everyone
has been asking when I'm moving, not least sister Sue cause she is trying to
plan their family holidays. All I can say is that I'll go when they have a
place. I'm not unhappy or uncomfortable where I am and I'll move when the
situation is right. I hope Sue & family have the freedom they choose!
Well I did go to Hood River and won the trophy and have enclosed a
picture of our "re-tire a guac" as Pat has finished his time at Dakine. Wow! so
ends another era! The whole weekend in Hood River was great. Chuck Hinman gave
me and Cathy a newly renovated room, which was really nice cause I even got
spoiled with Mark DeResta's fabulous food in their restaurants, and their
bathrooms were handicap accessible. Ok, a good hot tub but not to out do Ann
& Pat as their's came with Pat's coffee! but the whole weekend was great!
Cathy even managed to give me a keyboard for my IPad which I am using to type
this using two hands, which is really good practice.
Well besides Hood
River, I went to Kelowna to brother Tom's with sister Jan which was a good
learning trip and my cousin Karen (Jane's sister) and husband Dave visited after
their conference at the Fairmont Whistler. I took them for a little ride/run on
the Seaview Trail which is a flat (rails to trails) good trail close by. I
also had a visit and run/ride with that famous dentist from Calgary, not Litttle
Dave but Sexy Dave, or Dave French. I learned it was demoralizing so, I'm sorry
Dave!
I remembered my dream for the first time. My buddy Tree was in it,
but he is in South America with his significant other and they are having their
first child and he's putting out a blog which is mostly pictures so if a picture
is worth a thousand words, I'll try.
I am getting better as I even get
warm. But I will be able to handle Vancouver heat so bring it on! The start
off the summer boating season began with "sail past" and I was invited on
Laura's boyfriend's boat. Ok I wanted to moon the commodore but I showed
maturity and restraint!
Anyway, I know that my sense of humour (as sick
as it is) is fine! I do feel better but I know there is still a long way to go.
So, stay tuned.
Things I need...friends who will meet me or take me for
coffee or a hot tub or ride my bike (Seaview Trail or some place flat, like
Stanley Park, Jericho beach or the like) A place to store bottles, so I don't
have to ship them back to Calgary.
